If the user is brand new

Create a Clearful account from the sign-up flow using the option available on the device, such as email, Apple, or Google.

If the user started as a guest

Clearful supports a guest-to-account path. In practice that means the user can start writing first, then create a full account later so their entries are tied to a saved login.

What to tell users

• Creating an account is the safest way to back up and sync entries.
• If they already wrote entries as a guest, they should follow the in-app create-account flow instead of starting over.
• If Clearful offers to save guest entries into the new account, they should confirm that step before continuing.

If something goes wrong

If the user says their guest entries did not appear after signing in, collect:

• the sign-in method they used
• whether they chose to save guest entries
• whether they switched accounts during the process

Then escalate through support with those details.
